Glacier Tiefenbach
Vent

Description

This panorama hike begins on the Tiefenbach glacier at an altitude of 2,800m. The breath-taking view of numerous noted 3,000m-high summits is a highlight of this tour. Along the entire hike we can admire the wonderful high-alpine fauna and flora. Plants and animals in this high mountain area had to develop unique survival strategies. The sheep parade or “transhumance” is also topic during this hike. This nomadism between North and South Tyrol has been practised for thousands of years and is a particular characteristic of Vent pasture farming. About 4,000 sheep are driven across the glaciers and saddles to high-alpine pastures. You will hear more about this topic from our specifically trained nature guides. Right in the middle and not just there… Registration: https://www.oetztal.com/experiences
