DJ legend Fritz Kalkbrenner celebrated a terrific gig in the snow of Ötztal, together with him a lot of fans of the electronic music scene. Dimitri Vegas traveled all the way from Belgium with his better half Mattn to fill the Fun Zone of Giggijoch with the finest tunes at 2,300 meters above sea level. The mood: relaxed. The weather: wintry. The result: a good 10,000 visitors. On top: perfect slope conditions for all those who wanted to combine beats and powder.
With a perfect blend of sports and entertainment, Sölden lives up to its self-imposed claim as the “Heartbeat of the Alps”. It is not surprising that in 2022 countless international DJ celebrities once again took the opportunity to make a stopover at 2,300 meters despite a busy schedule during the festival high season. The Fun Zone on Giggijoch was thus transformed into what is probably the highest open-air club in the Alps. More than 10,000 music-loving winter fans gathered in Sölden to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere as well as fine beats in the best wintry conditions.
Stars of distinction
The Sölden newbie and Italian DJ Angemi, who became famous with his "What if" videos on Facebook, and Anouk Matton aka Mattn kicked things off. For Belgium’s EDM-Djane it was already the second visit to Sölden after 2018. The Belgian brothers and DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike had to do without the latter due to illness, but that didn't dampen the great festival atmosphere. Thanks to star DJ Fritz Kalkbrenner, a strong breeze of big city flair blew across the wintry snow-covered slopes on the second festival day when the guy from Berlin played his most famous tracks. Young and old, families and friends took the unique opportunity to fully enjoy the two days dedicated to electronic dance music. This was also confirmed by the Kosovan DJ and music producer Reghard: "My first performance in the snow and the varied audience were a unique experience." 30 & 31 March 2023 will be the date for the upcoming ELECTRIC MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL.
