FAQ

Offers & Trails

It's all about
  • Pump Track: man-made training area ideal to improve your skills and biking techniques (perfect for beginners and children).
Main aim: gaining more speed by pumping your body into turns without pedaling!
  • Trail: natural path or trail used by both mountain bikers and hikers
  • Single Trail: narrow path suitable only for downhill biking one behind the other
  • Line: man-made trail without any tree roots or rocks
  • Jump Line: line that includes also obstacles and jumps (excellent biking technique required)
  • Flow: feeling easy on the bike, similar to a roller-coaster experience

With the purchase of an MTB ticket at the ticket offices of Bergbahnen Sölden you receive the official Bike Republic passport. Each trail, each line is equipped with a stamp box, the respective location is marked on the trail map. Now you are ready to collect stamps like visas on all trails. There are cool biker goodies for 6, 12, 18 or 27 stamps. You can find more information about naturalization in the Bike Republic here.

Attention: the passport is valid across seasons so you can also use the one from the last season to complete it.

You get it at the ticket offices of Bergbahnen Sölden (Gaislachkogl & Giggijoch) with every Bike Ticket you purchase. If you have a combined ticket (for example: Gravity Card), you can simply pick up a passport at the cash desk.

You get the goodies for all stamps you have collected in your passport at the Gaislachkogl Gondola ticket office, Dorfstraße 115, or at the Ötztal Tourismus information office, Gemeindestraße 4, in Sölden.

Beginners are recommended to start in the practice area, the so-called Pump Tracks. The Rolling Pump Track is opposite Hotel Bäckelar Wirt and the Sunny Pump Track next to Hotel Sunny. Additionally, Sölden’s bike schools offer special basic courses for beginners, afterwards you can dare to tackle the first real lines. HERE is an overview of the Shaped Lines .

Sölden’s bike schools also offer courses for children and will be happy to advise you on which trails, routes, offers, etc. are suitable for you. Children’s bikes are available at all sports shops in vicinity of the mountain lift terminals.

Generally, there are no restrictions. The e-bike should ideally be a MTB Fully and, of course, be properly maintained and trail-worthy.

No! As soon as the bike season ends, the trails are no longer maintained and it is not allowed to use them.

FAQ

Bike schools & Guides, Shops, Rental & Accomodation

Here you will find an overview of all bike schools and guides who teach the right riding technique at different levels and take you on the most beautiful tours and trails in the Bike Republic (and beyond).

Most sports shops in Sölden rent out all types of mountain bikes. Whether hardtail, enduro or real downhill bikes, everyone will find the right bike here. They are also the first point of contact for repairs and of course help you decide on your own bike.

A perfectly maintained mountain bike suitable for the trails - for example enduro, freeride or downhill bike - is an absolute must. The sports shops in Sölden will be happy to provide you with expert advice.

Every biker must wear protective equipment suitable for the level of difficulty of the respective trail. In any case, it consists of a half shell helmet, or even better a full-face helmet. Further protective equipment such as neck protection, back protector, protectors on elbows and legs as well as gloves is strongly recommended.
