Sölden’s glacier makes a unique experience in every season: from autumn to spring you can ski on the wide and snow-sure slopes of Rettenbach & Tiefenbach Glacier. The two glacier ski mountains, which extend between 2675 meters and 3250 meters above sea level and comprise 34.5 slope kilometers, are connected by a spectacular ski tunnel. The glacier also offers outstanding attractions in summer: as an excursion destination, hiking area or even mountain bike heaven.

Autumn time on the glacier

Skiing in world-class conditions during the autumn months - just like the professionals of the Alpine Ski World Cup who kick-off the season at Rettenbach glacier every year. Test the latest ski equipment and material in order to find the right model for the upcoming winter season. Or use the glacier ski area for training units. Autumn on the glacier offers all this and a lot more.

Winter time on the glacier

You better dress warmly. Not only because of low temperatures that prevail at over 3000 meters in winter. But also because the glacier has so much to offer in winter: there is Sölden's, even Austria's longest top-to-bottom ski run that meanders over 15 kilometers and almost 2000 altitude meters down to the valley floor. Or the awe-inspiring BIG3 viewing platforms. The comfy Glacier Express gondola lift takes you easily from the winter to the glacier ski areas.

Spring time on the glacier

Can't get enough of fun on the slopes? Just perfect that the ski season on the glacier is even longer than down in the valley. Plus perfect slope conditions and powder snow - that's how sunshine skiing works in Sölden. You also have the chance to test the ski equipment of the coming season. Thanks to Hannibal – The Glacier Spectacle, Rettenbach Glacier turns into an enormous open-air stage every two years.

Summer time on the glacier

The journey is its own reward. Ok, the saying is a bit hackneyed, but it aptly sums up summer time on the glacier. Even the uphill ride on Ötztal’s Glacier (toll) Road - the highest road in the Eastern Alps - is an experience in itself. Once at the top, magnificent viewing platforms, hiking routes and even a natural mountain bike trail are waiting to be discovered.
