Getting to Sölden rail by rail – You can take the train to Ötztal-Bahnhof at the valley entrance in a relaxed and sustainable manner thanks to daily international direct connections. From here you continue to Sölden effortlessly by public transport every half hour. Several special rates and the ÖBB luggage transport service ensure a both inexpensive and easy journey by train.
Daily direct connections
You can reach Ötztal by train from all directions. In particular, direct connections from Germany, Switzerland and within Austria guarantee a stress-free journey.

ÖBB luggage service
Enjoy the train journey and simply send your luggage ahead. The ÖBB luggage transport service will pick up your luggage at your home and deliver it straight to your holiday accommodation. This service is available to all guests from Austria and Germany if the trip is booked with ÖBB Austrian Railways.
Booking:Information on ÖBB luggage service available HERE. Luggage delivery from door to door. If no one can collect your luggage at your destination, there is an additional service sending your luggage to a central address as described in the next step.
Information about addressing: If someone is at the accommodation during the day (e.g. reception), please include the address of the accommodation as the destination address when ordering luggage delivery. The luggage will be delivered directly to the accommodation. If you stay at an accommodation where no one can accept your luggage before check-in, you can take advantage of our additional service. The service is offered for overnight stays in the following holiday villages: Hochgurgl, Obergurgl, Sölden, Hochsölden, Vent, Zwieselstein, Längenfeld, Huben. Luggage collection: The luggage is first picked up by the luggage service provider of ÖBB from the specified address in the home town and brought to Austria to the destination address you have defined.
Receive your luggage at the holiday resort: If your luggage was not delivered directly to the accommodation, delivery can be ordered within a favorite time window of 2 hours after arrival at the holiday accommodation. You have to call the phone number +43 66488355200 between 8.00 and 16.00 and give the exact address of your holiday accommodation. The luggage will then be delivered within the agreed 2 hours.
Booking/Pick-up address: When booking the luggage service (see above), enter the address of the accommodation as the pick-up address if someone is on site to hand over the luggage. If no one is on site, provide the central address: Name: ÖTZTALER Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH; Address: Ötztalstraße 2, A-6450 Sölden. Please note the information in the next section.
Pick-up of luggage in your accommodation: If you use the central address, luggage pick-up can be ordered before you leave your holiday accommodation within a favorite time window of 2 hours. You have to call the phone number +43 66488355200 between 8.00 and 16.00 and provide the exact address of your holiday accommodation. The luggage will then be picked up there within the agreed 2 hours.
Luggage delivery:: The luggage is picked up by the luggage service provider at the specified pick-up address (accommodation or central address) and shipped to the delivery address (home address).
An additional service also makes it easier to travel to holiday apartments. The Tirolean holiday region of Ötztal stands for environmental-friendly and sustainable tourism and is therefore offering all guests who stay at private accommodations or holiday apartments and who arrive by train a special service in the 2024 summer season: guests have the option of sending their luggage to their holiday destination even if no one is on site at their accommodation, in order to receive their luggage before arrival or to have it picked up after departure. The luggage is sent to a central address and delivered to the accommodation upon arrival of the guests. This special service was developed as part of the ULTIMOB research project.
The ÖBB price list applies to luggage delivery services. The extra service will be carried out on a trial basis at no additional cost in the Ötztal Holiday Region in the 2024 summer season - in cooperation with the ULTIMOB project. If you make use of the additional service, you are asked to fill out a short and anonymous questionnaire in which you tell us more about your experience as well as your wishes and suggestions regarding the service. In this way you make a valuable contribution to the further development of this service. The questionnaire will be handed out during the luggage handover. This program is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Protection.
