Starting from the center car park in Oetz, ride along the river and then turn left into the forest towards Piburgersee. Continue on the forest road until you reach the junction `Piburger See` . The short but steep ascent demands a lot from bikers, but the view from the Seejöchl rewards all the effort. From there follow the forest path to Haderlehn and further via the winter sledding run to Sautens. From there you ride back the Ötztal cycle path back to Oetz.

    Author’s recommendation

    Turn-by-turn directions

The promising bike tour starts at the center car park in Oetz. Right next to the car park is as well a bus stop for buses with bike transport (Oetz council office). From the car park, turn twice right and then follow the paved path along the river for approx. 500 m. At the cross "Piburger Straße", turn left, cross the bridge and then continue left along the Elsingerweg towards Piburgersee and continue over the verly steep serpentines in the direction of Seejöchl. This is the steepest section of the tour, which means pedaling hard. After overcoming this last incline, a easy section will bring you to the to the `Seejöchl` junction. You will have to walk do be able to reach the viewing platform.  The view over the lake `Piburger See` with the mountains towering behind it, rewards for all the effort The `Seejöchl` invites you to unwind. Continuing on the tour, along the at first flat forest road, which will steepen up towars `Piburg´ and further on to forest track towards `Haderlehn`. From there you ride down the winter sledding run to Sautens. Once reached the village, follow the street downwards until you meet the Ötztal cycle path, which you continue to follow back to Oetz.
