    From Hochsölden you take the Dr. Bachmann path over steep terrain to the Peerlersee. On this hike you can enjoy the magnificent view of Sölden and the Nederkogl behind the village. Loud whistles indicate the presence of the marmots. You are in a high alpine landscape that you just have to fall in love with. On the way back you descend via the Almen to the small hamlet of Granstein and then on to Sölden.

    Red mountain trails are moderately difficult: some narrow and steep, but assured walking and climbing passages are waiting for hikers. The corresponding signs are in yellow basic color and have a red circle as a difficulty indication.

    Turn-by-turn directions

    From the Giggijochbahn mountain station, the hiking trail leads down over the ridge to the Sonnblick restaurant.

    As an alternative, you can also take the new Hochsölden-Rotkoglbahn.

    Follow the road towards the Sonnenhotel Hochsölden out of the valley. You continue to walk across alpine meadows and steep slopes with a wonderful view of Sölden.

    Over several ridges of the terrain and past a few puddles of water, you come to a path that divides the way.

    There you follow the upper path, which is steeper in the last section and leads you to the Peerlersee.

    The descent will take you via the Gransteinalm to the Hochwald Jausenstation and from there via Granstein and Leite back to Sölden.

    Public transport

    Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our local taxi companies through the valley to your desired destination.     Directions

    The car drive to the Ötztal valley.

    Situated in Tirol, the Ötztal valley set off in southerly direction and is the longest side valley in the Eastern Alps.

    The journey with the car leads you through the Inntal valley to the entrance of the Ötztal valley and further on through the valley.
